Ecuador real estate opportunities
Homes in Jama Campay on Ecuador’s newly-accessible north Pacific coast

Dear Reader,

Perched on a little cliff a few steps above a wide sandy beach, around 10 miles north of Jama, you’ll find a project called Jama Campay. Here, you can buy an 1800-square-foot home overlooking the beach from $115,000.

This is an opportunity that should be on your radar.

Ocean-blue views stretch to the horizon and south along the coast. The beach offers ample space for swimming and volleyball…and there’s verdant nature all around for hiking, biking and boating.

Jama Campay is a project of 90 homes. Ninety condos will follow once they get their approvals. These 1,800-squarefoot, three-bed, three-bath homes are spacious and comfortable. Large open-plan kitchens and living areas make for great views to the beach and ocean.

With a start price of $115,000 for one of these 1,800-square-foot homes, that’s $64 per square foot. You’ll find it hard to get a bigger bang for your buck—anywhere.

This is Ecuador’s nicest stretch of coast. Steep, rich, jungle-clad hills rise steeply from the rocky shoreline. The ocean views from the hills that rise from the coast (of 270 degrees in places) are awesome. Warm breezes keep the temperatures comfortable. Monkeys howl and brightly colored butterflies dance among the leaves and grasses.

As a reader of these alerts you will know that until recently, this stretch of coast was difficult to get to. But last year the new coastal road from Quito to Pedernales was finished. (Pedernales is just thirty minutes from this community.) This cuts the drive time from Quito to Pedernales in half, to three-and-a-half hours. So access is easier now, and more of Quito’s residents can come here for weekends and vacations …and it’s likely to attract more foreign tourists, too.

These homes at Jama Campay rent for $150 to $200 per night to the high-end Quito market. And they are in demand. This is where wealthy people from Quito come to vacation or for the weekend. These locals buy based on trust and reputation. It’s always worth paying attention to where the locals invest—or don’t. This isn’t a “gringo project,” but I expect more foreign buyers to come.

Improved accessibility + stunning coast = Path of Progress Play
If you are serious about living, retiring, buying a second home, or generating an income overseas, this is an opportunity that should be on your radar.

An invitation to visit…
As a reader of these alerts I would like to extend an invite from the developer to you to join a Chill Weekend at Jama Campay…to wiggle your toes in that sand and sample life on Ecuador’s finest stretch of coast.

What I’m talking about is a few well-planned days away – a long weekend – enough to get a feel for whether this coast I’m talking about really suits you or not.

Francisco (the developer’s son and the project’s sales and marketing guy) has put together the itinerary. He knows this coast like the back of his hand. The best beaches…the best ceviche…the best hiking…

Just get yourself to Quito ( Ecuador’s capital city) and Francisco will take care of the rest.

The improved highway you will take out of Quito is impressive. This was a dirt road that connected little mountain villages. It has always been the most direct route to the coast, but it wasn’t the route the road to the coast followed. When you see the terrain, you’ll understand why.

Stretches of this road have been carved out of the side of the Andes, a major engineering undertaking. But as I mentioned up front, the completion of this road cut the drive time from Quito to the coast in half. All told, it’s about a three-and-a-half hour ride from Quito.

This “Chill Weekend” will be a fun experience. Francisco has put together a great itinerary. And I can assure you: Whether you decide this place is right for you or not—you’ll have a relaxing, enjoyable getaway at the beach.

Over two nights and three days you’ll get to hang out at the beach, experience Jama and the surrounding area, dine on the local cuisine, and visit local sights, including a trip to the beach town of Canoa for a farewell dinner.

The little beach town of Canoa is becoming increasingly popular. That’s due in part to its wide, straight stretch of sand beach that runs for miles…the must-see pink-scarlet sunsets you can watch from the comfort of a hammock…and the Margaritaville atmosphere that makes it very hard to leave.

And it’s an opportunity to follow the Path of Progress and see the infrastructure improvements I’ve been talking about first hand. Two years ago it wouldn’t have been feasible to take this route. Now it is. You should go and see for yourself before the world catches on.

Just get yourself to Quito in time for an early departure on Friday, August 19th and Francisco will take care of the rest.

Oh, and the best part? The cost for these three days and two nights—including all your meals, overnight stays, and transportation—is $250 per person. Francisco is standing by to send you a full information pack. Spaces are limited, so please book early to avoid being disappointed. I’d hate for you to miss out.

Ronan McMahon

P.S. If you aren’t available to join the August trip, contact Francisco and he will let you know about future chill weekend dates in September and October.
