Dear Reader,
Uruguay is becoming increasingly desirable as a second home and investment destination. Peaceful and stable, Uruguay is free from natural disasters. The feel is first world…like Europe, but with Latin charm and flair.
An hour from Montevideo, Uruguay’s historic capital, and twenty minutes from Punta del Este (South America’s premier resort) is the beach town of Piriápolis. Piriápolis has long been popular for its sandy beaches, calm waters, and attractive seafront.
Piriápolis has the look of a bygone era, with its stately brick buildings, waterfront boardwalk, and opulent Hotel Argentino. The town fills with bathers and sun-worshipers for the entire summer. Year-round, people come from all over Uruguay to enjoy its fine seafood restaurants, casinos, cafés, and local museums.
Yet Piriápolis is small. Unlike Montevideo or nearby Punta del Este, it has a small-town, neighborly feel. Everyone knows everyone.
Five minutes from here, you’ll find the Sugar Loaf Ocean Club and Spa. A year ago, I introduced members of Real Estate Trend Alert to this project. Members bought lots pre-release at special member-only pricing and terms.
Sugar Loaf Ocean Club and Spa is situated on a 75-acre property. It is surrounded by rolling hills, farms, and pastureland. Sugar Loaf sits high on a hill in front of Uruguay’s famous Sugar Loaf Mountain. The views of Piriápolis and the deep blue sea are commanding.
Today, the project is becoming a reality. Check out these photos of the construction progress:

The developer’s (David James) plans call for convenience and harmony. The planned modern business center will facilitate remote working. Wireless internet service will be available throughout the community. All utilities are underground to preserve the harmony with nature. The onsite restaurant, El Alquimista, will offer a fusion of traditional Uruguayan recipes and international fare.
Planned amenities at Sugar Loaf Ocean Club and Spa will help keep body and mind healthy. At the Enchanted Rock Spa, a variety of soothing massages, aromatherapy, yoga or meditation will be available. Amenities will also include a gymnasium, Jacuzzi, and sparkling infinity-view pool. Residents or owners here are automatically entitled to membership at nearby Club de Lago, one of the finest golf courses in South America.
The most spectacular aspect however is the view. Located at one of the country’s high points, the property enjoys a full 180-degree ocean view to the front, and a view of the rolling hills to the back, including the famous Sugar Loaf Mountain.
In the past year, David has sold 49 lots. The project is now just shy of 50% sold. David is moving beyond the early-in stage. Still, David has nine lots available to Pathfinder readers with attractive finance terms.
Here’s how the numbers play out. These premium lots cost $69,000. You make a down payment of $20,970. You have two years of interest-free finance during which you make payments of $816 per month. At the end of year two, you can pay the balance or continue to make monthly payments plus interest. You can finance your lot purchase over five years. David is standing by to answer any questions you have.
