This coast boasts warm, turquoise ocean and coral-sand beaches
Dear Reader,
Last month, The Gran Bahia Principe resort (near Tulum) hosted International Living’s Live and Invest in Mexico conference. I got to spend time with developer Benjamin Beja on his home turf.
I visited the newly completed first phase of Benjamin’s Sian Ka'an development. Sian Ka’an is set in the Gran Bahia resort. I was impressed. Benjamin has over-delivered.
The buildings complement nature, and the surrounding jungle. Moving water is a central feature in this tranquil setting.
Sian Ka’an’s gourmet restaurant is open and serving meals. The swimming pool was buzzing with readers who had bought in Sian Ka’an while I was there who were test-driving their new condos. All the buyers commented on the quality of the materials, fittings and furnishings (a furniture and appliance pack were included in the price they paid). Delighted and excited sums up how they felt about their property purchases.
All phases of Sian Ka'an are now sold out. That's over 400 condos sold in less than two years...and Phase 1 delivered and operational.
Benjamin’s new project, Tao, is also set in Gran Bahia, close to Sian Ka’an. The design and build quality at Sian Ka’an bodes well for Tao. Tao condos start at $153,000. The pre-release units are selling like hot cakes. When I left the conference in Tulum, 53 Tao condos had already been reserved. Prices are set to rise.
Benjamin’s vision for Tao is a community where residents will engage with their neighbors and stay mentally and physically active. His architect (who I met during my trip) is making this his number one priority throughout the design process.
The Tao center will be the focal point of the project. At the Tao center, residents will do yoga and Pilates on specially constructed glass platforms over caves...swim in the lap pools that weave their way through the development...or work out in the gym. A full-time nutritionist will help if you need to shave a couple of inches off your waistline or simply increase your energy levels. Tao will focus on keeping your mind in shape as well as your body. Cookery, Spanish and salsa classes, and stimulating lectures from guest speakers, will see to that.
If you’d like to see the Sian Ka’an project yourself, and check out the setting for Tao, you should consider a chill weekend. These short mini-vacations give you the chance to try out the Tao lifestyle...and see if it fits. Moreover, a four-day, three-night trip (including accommodation and meals at the resort) only costs $180.
A fellow reader who attended a recent chill weekend describes her experience:
“My husband and I are not sure if we will retire out of the US, but want to investigate opportunities and thought that a chill weekend would be a good place to start. We have recently returned from our first and to say we had a great time would be an understatement.
"We were skeptical and cautious about our decision to attend a chill weekend in Tulum, Mexico. We anticipated lots of sales pressure and boring presentations. To put it mildly, we were wonderfully wrong! The entire weekend, from the moment we landed in Cancun, until we had to leave, was nothing short of awesome.
"There were NO sales pitches, only information, and most of that was generated by the questions from the crowd (and especially us!). The accommodations and food were excellent; the like-minded people we met became instant friends; the entire staff (sales, waiters, porters, housekeeping, managers, and even the developer!) was professional and welcoming; and the experience was unforgettable.
"In addition to touring the development and its various offerings, we were treated to trips to local beaches and shopping. To sum up the trip, neither my husband nor I were ready to leave and can’t wait to return. We expected to be turned off and not purchase anything and ended up acquiring two investments. Even our contact with the sales staff after we returned home has been very pleasant!
"Based on our experience, we would not hesitate to highly recommend a chill weekend to anyone even if they are only vaguely interested in international living.”
Donna is standing by here to book your spot.
This resort is somewhere I like to spend time. I expect these condos and homes will increase in value and I expect there will be a strong rental market here.
I strongly urge you to join Benjamin and his team for one of their chill weekends before prices rise and this window of opportunity closes.
