It’s Real, It’s Happening Now—and You Need to Know About It

Monday, November 23, 2009

Dear Reader,

Each week I receive real estate updates from our Pathfinder network of in-country contacts. They keep me in the loop, telling me about the latest new airport, or changes in local zoning requirements.

Last week’s two most exciting updates were from Costa Rica’s Southern Zone, and Rancho Santana in Nicaragua.

If you have been following these dispatches, you know I am bullish on Costa Rica’s Southern Zone. This is the area that runs south of Quepos to the border with Panama on Costa Rica’s Pacific side. The scenery is amazing but prices stayed low here because it was difficult to get to.

I have been telling you that this was set to change. Now it has. The coastal road is being resurfaced, and now it’s almost complete.

As you know anything that improves the accessibility of a piece of real estate increases its desirability. More desirable=more valuable. Even so, today you can still buy a lot in the “gold standard” resort in this area for $40,000. You need to move fast…as soon as visitors put rubber to asphalt and experience the new accessibility, prices will rocket. In Costa Rica’s northwest Pacific coast, you would pay up to six times as much for a lot…and it’s nicer here. Read my full report here…

Then get yourself down to the Southern Zone, December 31st, 2009 to January 3rd, 2010, for their upcoming Chill Weekend.

The first residents of Rancho Santana’s Seagate Condos moved in last week. They came here on vacation, fell in love with the place, and couldn’t bear to leave. I know how they feel. Rancho Santana is a place I never want to leave myself. And a Seagate Condo is the only condo Lee Harrison would buy along this stretch of coast. I agree with Lee…read his full report here.

I strongly urge you check out what they have done with Rancho Santana for yourself. The developer has deep pockets and he’s using them to create a world-class resort community. The amenities and the homes are seriously high-end. The setting is second to none. Read Lee’s full report here…

Then sign-up for their January 2010 Chill Weekend, and find out what makes this place so special.

Pathfinder is in the business of recommending a wide range of real estate and relocation services from developers and lawyers to real estate agents and tax specialists, to name but a few. Pathfinder requires developers to meet basic criteria before bringing them to you. However, any vetting we do on projects or professionals should not be construed as a guarantee by Pathfinder. Pathfinder is not responsible for the management or delivery of chill weekends. We bring these to you for informational purposes on behalf of our developer and broker partners. As with any other overseas trip, we advise that you purchase travel insurance. We always recommend strongly that buyers perform their own complete due diligence, use a qualified legal professional to help with real estate transactions and purchase title insurance. Should a reader decide to purchase a property from one of the developers/real estate agents Pathfinder covers, Pathfinder will receive a fee from the developer or real estate agent.
