This place is a little piece of Caribbean paradise, that's poised to boom

Dear Reader,

It's a boutique destination, with a unique flair and a chic lifestyle. Its beauty is undeniable: a carpet of silky white sand, contrasting with the jewel-bright waves of the Caribbean, backing onto dark emerald jungle. The destination of choice for independent travelers for years, and a handful of expats, this place was a hidden corner of Mexico that its residents didn't want to share. Now the secret's getting out...and this place is poised to boom. But it's clinging tight to its boutique roots.

I'm talking about Tulum, on Mexico's Riviera Maya. Once a forgotten Caribbean outpost, the world is slowly waking up to Tulum's potential. A new international airport should put this place firmly on the map. But we have a window to profit...before the mainstream catches up.

I starting scouting this area six years back. And I kept coming back, until I found the best properties on offer here. And this is one of those properties...

Set in rich green jungle, and spread over 1200 acres, this project feels like a private playground. You can buy a lot here with monthly payments of only $500. And I'm not talking about a lot the size of a postage stamp. These lots are large and spacious. You get five acres to stretch out in... five acres surrounded by tranquil jungle...home to a thousand species of birds, butterflies, monkeys and colorful flowers. The jungle floor is dotted with natural wells, large limestone boulders, and jagged outcrops.

Your five acres is only 12 minutes from the beach. Not just any beach, but Mexico's best beach, and the place Tripadvisor's 30 million readers rate as the world's #2 beach destination. Moreover, the site slated for Tulum's new airport is a short drive away.

This is jungle chic. When I visited earlier this year, I was amazed by the clever home design that incorporates the caves and boulders that dot the home sites. But don't take my word on the property's stylish credentials. Why not come and see for yourself?

You can join a group of fellow readers for five days exploring Tulum...her beautiful beaches and rich jungle... and the best real estate on offer here. The cost: $199. That includes your accommodation, meals and even cocktails at sunset on the white-sand beaches. I'll tell you more about this trip in a minute...but first let me tell you about the type of home you could build on your five acres.

I saw a home under construction when I last visited. The centerpiece is the open-plan living, cooking, and dining area upstairs. The functional stuff is downstairs. Upstairs is for gathering the family, and enjoying the views. Perched right at the top of the tree line, fresh breezes keep temperatures comfortable in both indoor and outdoor areas. The views across the canopy are awesome. The build quality is top class. The price for this type of finish is about $80 per square foot.

In the "back yard," the owner has taken advantage of a little cave to create a natural amphitheater. This is where he will gather with friends, family and a couple of guitars. Rocky outcrops surround a small swimming pool. Lighting will create a dramatic effect at night. The rock formations and the vegetation do the design work for you. Nature has been working on this design for a lot longer than we have.

You can go the custom route, or alternatively you can choose from one of the developer's home designs.

Better yet, the home sites come with developer financing. Your five acres costs $60,000. You'll only pay $10,000 down--and make monthly payments (interest free) of $500 a month over three years. At the end of the three-year period, you pay the outstanding balance of $32,000. This is a special offer for our readers. If you walked in off the street and looked to buy a lot here today, you would need to make a down payment of $25,000.

Back to the fun part: seeing this place for yourself. On our Tulum chill weekend, you'll spend five days and four nights soaking up Tulum's eco-chic atmosphere. You'll spend an afternoon on that gorgeous white sand beach that Tripadvisor readers love so much. At night, you'll enjoy cocktails in a warm breeze under the stars.

You'll spend some time checking out the local towns and villages...get a feel for Tulum...and make sure that you're comfortable here. The only way you'll know for sure is to come for a mini-vacation and test-drive the place for yourself. If you're like 90% of our readers who come on a chill weekend here, and buy a property, you'll simply wonder why it took you so long to make the move...

The chill weekend takes place on October 21st-25th, 2010. We've pulled out all the stops on this trip. We've pushed the developers into coming up with a first-class itinerary. And then we've squeezed them on the price.

Until next Tuesday (September 21st), the price for the trip is only $199. You could pay more than that to spend just one night at the beach resort you'll stay in... yet you'll get 4 nights' accommodation, your meals, and even cocktails on the beach, for $199.

Space is limited to the first 24 readers who reserve their spot.

Contact Jhoanna here today to reserve your space. These slots will fill fast. I doubt we'll have any space left next Tuesday--but if we do, the price rises to $399.

P.S.: I'm here in Las Vegas today for International Living's Live & Invest Overseas conference. We have a record number of attendees...and we're giving them the chance to sign up for our Tulum weekend. If you want to beat those attendees to it, and snap up your place, click here.

Pathfinder is in the business of recommending a wide range of real estate and relocation services from developers and lawyers to real estate agents and tax specialists, to name but a few. Pathfinder requires developers to meet basic criteria before bringing them to you. However, any vetting we do on projects or professionals should not be construed as a guarantee by Pathfinder. Remember, the value of your real estate purchase can go down as well as up; there are no guarantees that property values will rise.

Pathfinder is not responsible for the management or delivery of chill weekends. We bring these to you for informational purposes on behalf of our developer and broker partners. As with any other overseas trip, we advise that you purchase travel insurance. We always recommend strongly that buyers perform their own complete due diligence, use a qualified legal professional to help with real estate transactions and purchase title insurance. Should a reader decide to purchase a property from one of the developers/real estate agents Pathfinder covers, Pathfinder will receive a fee from the developer or real estate agent.
