The Emerald Isle on Sale

If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a home in Ireland…read on

Ireland’s having a tough time right now. The heady days of the Celtic Tiger, with a booming economy, and rocketing real estate prices, are a rapidly-fading memory. Most of the country’s financial woes are real estate related…over-ambitious developments, over-priced properties, and banks willing to lend astronomical sums based on projected sales figures to buyers and developers alike.

Official stats show a fall of more than 40% in property prices…but the truth is, there is no functioning real estate market. Owners hold on to property rather than selling when they know they will take a loss on what they paid originally. The banks don’t want to offload properties either, as that would mean a hole in their balance sheets that only another bailout can fill. So fire sales have been few and far between.

But next month, the first auction of distressed properties takes place in Dublin. There’s a wide selection, from city pads to country homes. One penthouse has a maximum reserve of 145,000 euro ($202,901): other penthouse units in the same development sold for up to 750,000 euro ($1.05 million) at the peak.

You can see the properties on offer here: http://www.allsop.co.uk/283/Irish-auctions.

Shangri-La from $43,000

You could live longer…and healthier…in the Valley of Longevity

In Vilcabamba, Ecuador, the weather is perfect. Not too hot…not too cold…not too dry…not too wet. Homes don’t need heating or air conditioning; just throw open your windows and let the fresh air in.This environment offers a year-round growing season. Food grows abundantly…berries, oranges, figs, almonds, papayas, mangoes, and avocados.

This is the Valley of Longevity. Nobody’s quite sure why so many locals seem to live longer (and healthier) here. Various studies attribute it to the climate, the mineral-rich water, the pure air, the organically-grown produce…

Close by, Podocarpus National Forest covers more than 360,000 acres, stretching from the valley all the way to Peru. This biosphere reserve hosts mountains, lakes, waterfalls, grasslands, tropical rain forest and cloud forest. You can see tapirs, jaguars, giant armadillos and even spectacled bears within the park boundaries.

No wonder this valley is dubbed Shangri-La…

And you can buy a home site here from $43,000, in Vilcabamba’s finest private community. Click here for an information package.

Test-Drive this Location for Four Days—For Free

You can test out relaxed country living, close to the beach…for free

A craggy mountain rises skywards over the grassy fields and little farms that sweep down to the sapphire-blue sea. A white sand beach hugs the shore beneath the gaze of a stately hotel. A small marina, little museums and a sprinkling of cafes and restaurants draw in the family groups that stroll along the waterfront boardwalk.

This seaside town is old-fashioned…quaint, even…but charming. Just twenty minutes away, a bigger resort town offers fine dining, nightlife and shows, and beautiful beaches. And ninety miles west lies a European-style capital city, with a world-class theatre, art galleries, shopping, and an international airport.

You can own a property here from $64,900. And you can test drive this location, accommodation, meals and transfers included…for free. Over four days and three nights, you’ll see a tango show…enjoy dinner at a beautiful restored theater…check out the local beach towns…and even go horse riding (if you want). The catch? Only seven readers can take part…

Click here to find out more and lock down your spot.

So, that’s it for now…three great offers, in three very different locations…but limited by availability. Contact the developers or brokers today to make sure you get your share.

Pathfinder is in the business of recommending a wide range of real estate and relocation services from developers and lawyers to real estate agents and tax specialists, to name but a few. Pathfinder requires developers to meet basic criteria before bringing them to you. However, any vetting we do on projects or professionals should not be construed as a guarantee by Pathfinder. Remember, the value of your real estate purchase can go down as well as up; there are no guarantees that property values will rise.

Pathfinder is not responsible for the management or delivery of chill weekends. We bring these to you for informational purposes on behalf of our developer and broker partners. As with any other overseas trip, we advise that you purchase travel insurance. We always recommend strongly that buyers perform their own complete due diligence, use a qualified legal professional to help with real estate transactions and purchase title insurance. Should a reader decide to purchase a property from one of the developers/real estate agents Pathfinder covers, Pathfinder will receive a fee from the developer or real estate agent.
