Spondylus II

A $101,500 Condo on Ecuador’s Most Popular Beach

Dear Reader,

Late last year we alerted International Living readers about Salinas, Ecuador’s largest resort town…and one of the country’s biggest investment opportunities.

Less than a two-hour drive from the international airport in Guayaquil, Salinas is at the southern end of La Ruta del Sol (The Sun Route), a string of fishing and beach towns stretching up Ecuador’s southern Pacific Coast. Its crescent-shaped, 9.5 miles of wide sandy beach have made it Ecuador’s “in” playground for sunbathing, boating, surfing, sport-fishing, and just about any other water or beach activity you can think of.

The beachfront, or Malecón, is lined with upscale high-rise apartments, hotels, excellent restaurants, shops, and discos…giving Salinas a stylish, Miami-Beach ambience—sun-worshiping and water sports during the day, and fine dining and a vibrant nightlife scene once the sun goes down.

I’ve just returned from scouting the real estate opportunities in and around Salinas, where I zeroed in on an early-in beachfront deal that promises to put you on the leading edge of the upside market in this popular beach resort.

The project is Spondylus II, a new condominium community being built at the edge of a tranquil, semi-private beach a few miles north of the Malecón in the Costa del Oro area of Salinas. It’s located near the Puerto Lucia Yacht Club, a popular destination for international sailors and an embarkation point for world-class deep-sea fishing charters.

Construction at Spondylus II began in March of this year, and the developer is offering 28 Phase-1 units at special pre-completion prices of between $101,500 and $149,500.

That’s for a spacious (1,248-square-feet), three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath condo with luxurious touches like porcelain tile floors, imported granite countertops, and ceramic tile baths…and a view of the Pacific Ocean from your private balcony.

You do need to be aware that these prices are Ecuadorian-style, which means that appliances, air-conditioning, and hot water heaters are not included in the price—most Ecuadorians prefer to buy at a lower price and install the appliances themselves.

However, the developer has told me that he can provide pricing to have those items builder-installed, if you wish. He is also working with a local furniture retailer to get a special offer for a furniture package.

The real beauty of this early-in deal, though, is that just over $100,000, you’re locking down a piece of prime beachfront real estate in a market that is just now emerging on the offshore market. And with the way beachfront property is grabbed up once word gets about a new “discovery”…a couple of years from now you very well may look back on this opportunity as a real steal.

Spondylus II is just minutes from grocery stores, a shopping mall, a country club, yacht clubs, restaurants, medical clinics, and the many other amenities of Salinas.

Plans for the condo community include 24-hour security, an oceanfront social area for exclusive use by unit owners and their guests, a gym, pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, and a secured parking area.

And, of course, you’ll have direct access to the inviting sand and surf…just steps from your front door.

If you’re interested in snapping up one of these units at Spondylus II for as little as $101,500, I encourage you to click here now for more information. With the demand for prime oceanfront property these days, I won’t be surprised if these initial 28 units sell out quickly.
